Many people serve baked potatoes as a side-dish with vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. The delicious dish can be prepared by baking any type of potatoes. But people prefer to use Russet potatoes for baking, due to its flaky texture and high proportion of contained starch. A potato normally gets the level of fulfillment based on the amount of starch. When you are selecting a potato for baking, inspect it thoroughly to ensure that it is free from all types of significant bruises, discolored spots, or sprouts. Also, if you are going to bake multiple potatoes, chose the vegetables of uniform shape and size. It will make it much easier to bake the vegetables evenly and simultaneously, without putting any additional effort.
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven for about 15 minutes at 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Wash your chosen potatoes thoroughly with cold water without peeling these off.
3. Coat the potatoes jackets with a thin layer of cooking oil, and sprinkle these with kosher salt.
4. Use a single layer of aluminum foil to wrap each potato individually. Place the wrapped potatoes directly inside the top oven rack.
5. Bake the potatoes for about 45 minutes by setting up the timer.
6. During the banking process, use a pointy-tip knife to poke it all the way through the largest size potato. If you feel the potato still to be a bit crunchy, bake these again for additional 15 minutes.
7. Keep repeating the process of checking and bake the potatoes for about one hour.
8. When the potatoes are baked perfectly, remove those from the oven and allow those to cool for about 5 minutes. Use a sharp knife and slit across the top of the baked potatoes. Squeeze gently the potatoes from each end towards the middle using your thumb and index finger. The skin will be removed and you can serve the baked potatoes to your guests along with your chosen meal.
